There’s a question that pierces every human soul: Where does real life come from?
Not just breath in your lungs, or years added to your days— but life that is full... eternal...
unshakable.
Romans 8:11 gives us the answer:
“If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from
the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you.”
That verse isn't just a promise for the end of time— it’s a declaration about the kind of life
you and I can walk in right now.
The Holy Spirit is not some distant power. He is God Himself, alive, moving, breathing in us.
The Nicene Creed echoes this truth:
"We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life… who with the Father
and the Son is worshiped and glorified."
From the very beginning, the Spirit was there—hovering over the waters, breathing life into
dust, igniting the breath in Adam’s lungs.
And now? He dwells in those who believe.
The very same Spirit who raised Jesus from the grave— now lives inside of you.
That’s not a metaphor. That’s not poetry. That’s resurrection power at work in a mortal
body.
2 Corinthians 3:6 puts it plainly:
“The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”
Rules can’t save you. Knowledge alone won’t restore you. Religion without the Spirit
becomes dry, cold, and lifeless.
But when the Spirit moves? He writes God’s truth—not on tablets of stone, but on human
hearts.
That’s what Paul tells the Corinthian church:
"You are a letter from Christ… written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living
God.” (2 Corinthians 3:3)
He’s saying this: you are living proof of the Spirit’s power.
But how does the Spirit give life?
â—Ź He awakens dead hearts to believe in Christ.
â—Ź He empowers weak hands to serve with joy.
â—Ź He strengthens weary souls with divine comfort.
â—Ź He quickens mortal bodies with resurrection hope.
This life is not earned—it’s gifted. Not manufactured—but imparted.
Paul says, “Not that we are competent in ourselves… but our sufficiency is from God.” (2
Corinthians 3:5)
Even your strength to live for God is a gift from the Spirit.
So here’s the invitation:
Let the Spirit give you life. Let Him breathe into the dry bones of your heart. Let Him fill your
lungs with the hope of eternity. Let Him write God's truth on the tablet of your soul.
Because the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead... still raises the dead today.
And He lives in you
