Introducing the Work of Christ Before Jesus left the earth, He made a promise. He said, “Greater works than these shall you do…” And in Acts 1:8, He told us how it would happen: “You shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” This promise wasn’t reserved for a chosen few—it was meant for all believers. But to fully understand this power, we first have to understand the One who gives it. Jesus Christ—eternal, divine, and one with the Father—entered time for a purpose. He didn’t just appear out of nowhere. He stepped down, into flesh, into limitation, into pain. Theologians call this the “humiliation” of Christ. He was born to die. Born to carry what we could not. From the cradle to the cross, His journey was marked by surrender. But the story didn’t end in death. Christ's work didn’t stop at humiliation—it transitioned into exaltation. He rose. He ascended. He was seated at the right hand of the Father. And one day, He’s coming again in glory. Every step of His mission was intentional. And every role He played was essential. He came to reveal God—showing us who the Father is. That’s His revelatory role. He came to rule—not like earthly kings, but with authority over sin, death, and darkness. That’s His kingly role. And He came to reconcile—to take what was broken and make it whole. That’s His priestly work. But if we stop at the surface, we miss the power behind it all: the atonement. For centuries, believers have wrestled with what the atonement really means. Was it a legal payment? A substitution? A demonstration of love? A cosmic victory? The truth is… it’s all of that. The atonement is multifaceted. It’s as deep as it is wide. And at its core, it tells us this: Jesus didn’t just die—He died for us. He made a way back to the Father when there was no other way. And now—because of Him—we live in the power of His finished work. The moment you gave your life to Christ, something miraculous happened. The Holy Spirit came in. He didn’t just visit. He made you new. He regenerated your heart—gave you a new will, a new mind, a new desire to obey God. You were adopted into God’s family. You became His child. His household became your home. And that same Spirit… lives in you. This is more than theology. This is reality. You don’t walk alone. You don’t fight alone. You carry the very presence of God within you. So today, ask yourself—am I walking in that power? Am I living like someone who’s been made new? Because if Christ humbled Himself for you… and rose in power for you… and sent His Spirit to dwell in you… then it’s time to live like it. You were saved on purpose. For a purpose. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now empowers you to do the work He began. Live boldly. Walk faithfully. And remember—you're not alone
