You can’t preach without power. You can have all the words, all the structure, and all the right doctrine—but if the Spirit isn’t moving, nothing changes. The Holy Spirit is not an accessory to preaching. He is the engine. He is the fire. He is the one who takes ordinary speech and breathes life into it. Jesus said in Luke 4:18–19, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor...” That’s not just a job description. It’s a divine mandate. And it begins with the anointing. Preaching—true preaching—is impossible without the Spirit. He’s the one who inspires the Word, who illumines the text, who opens blind eyes, and softens hardened hearts. Without Him, sermons are just speeches. But with Him, the Word pierces like a sword, heals the broken, delivers the captive, and resurrects the dead in spirit. The Spirit doesn’t just work through the message—He works through the messenger. He calls the preacher. He prepares them, not just with study, but with surrender. Not just with books, but with brokenness. A preacher might be eloquent, but if they are not obedient to the Spirit, they will preach without power. That’s why preparation is more than research. It’s repentance. It's prayer. It’s staying in tune with the Spirit so He can shape not just your sermon, but your soul. And when the preacher steps up, fully surrendered, fully yielded—the Spirit steps in. He silences the enemy’s voice that tries to distract or deceive the hearers. He confirms the Word with conviction. He awakens faith in the listener’s heart. He transforms the moment into a divine encounter where lives are changed forever. Preaching isn’t about performance. It’s about presence—the presence of the Holy Spirit. He selects the preacher. He crafts the message. He prepares the moment. He opens the ears of the audience. He convicts, converts, and connects people to Jesus. You want to see transformation? Let the Holy Spirit take over the pulpit. Because when He does, sinners tremble, believers awaken, chains fall, and dry bones live again. That’s why we pray—not just for the words to say, but for the Spirit to move. We don’t just preach for response. We preach for revival. And revival comes when the Spirit is present in every part of the preaching process. So, preacher, don’t rely on talent. Rely on Him. Don’t just prepare your sermon—prepare your spirit. Let the Holy Spirit do what only He can do. Because when He is present, the Gospel isn’t just heard... it’s felt. It’s believed. It’s obeyed. And it changes everything. That is the power and the purpose of Spirit-led preaching. Let the Spirit speak
